Rolex–My “dream”

When i was a child, i was one that is playfully mischievous.  My father would told me that:” you should stop your archness ,study well and make progress every day! Maybe i could buy you a Rolex Watch as a encouragement and reward.”

Well, to tell the truth, i didn’t know what  Rolex  is about, really. However, i changed my naughty character gradually and  became diligent in study, until one day i  entered the college. I study hard not just for the Rolex Watch(Maybe Rolex Watch did inspire me for further efforts for some time ), i was growing up and became mature.

Today, if you ask me about Rolex Watch, i can speak immediately.

In 1905 Hands Wilsdorf  and his brother-in-law Alfred Davis founded “Wilsdorf and Davis” in London. Their main business at the time was importing Hermann Aegler’s Swiss movements to England and placing them in quality watch cases made by Dennison and others. These early wristwatches were sold to jewellers, who then put their own names on the dial. The earliest watches from Wilsdorf and Davis were usually hallmarked “W&D” inside the caseback.

In 1908 Wilsdorf registered the  trademark  “Rolex” and opened an office in La Chaux-de-Fonds,Switserland.The company name “Rolex” was registered on 15 November 1915. The word was made up, but its origin is obscure. Wilsdorf was said to want his watch brand’s name to be easily pronounceable in any language. He also thought that the name “Rolex” was onomatopoeic, sounding like a watch being wound. It was also short enough to fit on the face of a watch. One story, never confirmed by Wilsdorf, is that the name came from the French phrase horlogerie exquise, meaning “exquisite clockwork”. The book The Best of Time: Rolex Wristwatches: An Unauthorized History by Jeffrey P. Hess and James Dowling says that the name was just made up.

In 1914 Kew Observatory awarded a Rolex watch a Class A precision certificate, a distinction which was normally awarded exclusively to marine chronometers.

In 1919 Wilsdorf moved the company to Geneva,Switzerland where it was established as the Rolex Watch Company. Its name was later changed to Montres Rolex, SA and finally Rolex, SA. The company moved out of the United Kingdom because taxes and export duties on the silver and gold used for the watch cases were driving costs too high.

Upon the death of his wife in 1944, Wilsdorf established the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation in which he left all of his Rolex shares, making sure that some of the company’s income would go to charity. The company is still owned by a private trust and shares are not traded on any stock exchange. There are many advancement , such as Automatic Movements, Quartz Movements, Water resistant Cases, Collections.

Modern Rolex models are Air-King,Date,Date-just,Date-just11,Daytona,Explore Series ,and so on.

From Breitling To John Travolta

“Some people think that  I am stupid, other believe that i am a lucky man .in fact, i am a warrior who is searching for the opportunity for combat! Do you believe that i am more stronger than Sylvester Stallone? ”

John Travolta, the man of firebathero in  1970s to the  Superstar of  Hollywood in 1990s. From “Welcome Back, Rotter” in 1975 to “American Dog” in 2008, John Travolta is still struggling  as in the past  and he has done a good job.

Playing Singing Star or  Film Star as the spokesman is the main marketing strategy of  many exclusive brands.

How to show its brand value and concept from the  image, temperament, qualifications and influence, the companies concerned should contemplate for quite a long time. Personally, i think  John Travolta is the classic example of combination of  brand and star.

An Introduction To Jaeger-LeCoultre armani watch

In 1833, the thirty-year-old Antoine LeCoultre, son of Vallee de Joux watchmaker Jacques LeCoultre, opened a small factory in the town of Le Sentier. LeCoultre soon proved himself to be a gifted watchmaker and a brilliant inventor. In 1844, he revolutionized the watch industry with the invention of the millionometer, an instrument, which could accurately measure up to one thousandths of a millimeter.

In 1925, the grandson of the firm’s founder, David LeCoultre, merged hispany with that of Edmond Jaeger, the exclusive supplier of watch movements to Cartier. This is when the modernpany known as Jaeger-LeCoultre first came into existence. Incredibly enough, up to that point Jaeger-LeCoultre had not sold any watches under its own name.

Today, JAEGER LECOULTRE Watchis one of the most prestigious in contemporary watchmaking. Watches are among our most important assets and they keep world time. Do you realize that thepany start producing ebauches for otherpanies? According to a little known fact, Jaeger-LeCoultre not only produce movements for its own watches but also produce movements for other famous watch houses, including IWC , VACHERON CONSTANTIN , AUDEMARS PIGUET and PATEK PHILIPPE.

In 1932, Patek Philippe was in major financial straits and was looking for a white knight, LeCoultre, whosepany manufactured movements for Patek, wanted to acquire a majority interest. He came close to finalizing a deal, but the Stern brothers, whosepany supplied the dials used in Patek Philippe watches, ultimately acquired thepany. Although Patek Philippe has certainly prospered under the Stern family’s management, it is nonetheless interesting to contemplate what effect a Patek Philippe/Jaeger-LeCoultre merger may have had on the Swiss watch industry.

On a final note. It regularly. is particularly worth noting that the Jaeger-LeCoultre is one of the rarepanies in Switzerland that still produces its own movements, cases, dials, hands, and bracelets. As a matter of fact, armani watches, each singleponent in a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch is hand-made, produced inside the factory. Strict quality control are used in developing systems to ensure products or services are designed and produced to meet or exceed customer requirements. Therefore, Jaeger-LeCoultre watches enjoy high reputation thanks to finest hand-crafted watches. It is evidence that Jaeger-LeCoultre produces such masterpieces as the Reverso Tourbillon and Reverso Minute Repeater

LeCoultre’s motto “we must base our experience on science” was particularly true when it came to manufacturing precision movements and tools. The artistry came later at the hands of a master watchmaker, who assembled, replica watches, decorated and regulated the movements. In short order, LeCoultre became the leading supplier of movements, parts and tools to the watch-making industry in Switzerland.

Jaeger-LeCoultre has continued to thrive, introducing such innovations as the Memovox, Futurematic, Atmos Clock and strikingly original movements such as the world’s thinnest automatic with a thickness of just 2.35 mm, just to name a few. The thin automatic movement in particular was an incredible success, as both Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet featured it in wristwatches advertised as being the world’s slimmest self-winding timepieces. During the 1970s and early 1980s, Jaeger-LeCoultre produced a 36 jewel, self-winding calibre for Patek Philippe.

The year 1931 saw the introduction of the Reverso, a wristwatch that could be turned 180 degrees within the case, thereby protecting the crystal and dial. It was a fantastic creation and one that was enthusiastically received by the public. Today, the Reverso is by far Jaeger-LeCoultre’s most popular model and the rest is history.

While Japanese watch importer Tokyoflash is known for their offbeat electronic watch designs, this time they’re hitting the market with a bunch of new contemporary watches which are firmly grounded in the mechanical age.

The self-adjusting stainless steel wristbands are trimmed with either black or clear edging, and adorned with custom engraving that ranges from futuristic to naturalistic.

The latest watches in their new Nekura series feature non-traditional analog dials, each of which possess a Space Age charm like something that might have found its way onto the set of 2001:A Space Odyssey. My personal favorite is the Tumbler, which tells time using a set of rotating numeric discs.

Among the designs are the Cabriolet, which features a green and black speedometer-like dial, and the Twilight, which offers a red white and blue theme, complete with retro computer font numbers.
